Our spring break trip to the Outer Banks was absolutely perfect! This beautiful stretch of barrier islands off the North Carolina coast has become our family's favorite annual destination, and 2024 was no exception.
Why We Keep Coming Back to the Outer Banks Every Year
The Outer Banks holds a special place in our hearts. It's where we go to reconnect as a family, enjoy beautiful beaches, and create lasting memories. This year marked our fourth consecutive spring break trip to OBX, and it was our best one yet!

Best Historical Sites in the Outer Banks: Wright Brothers, Lighthouses, and More
This year we made sure to explore more of the area's rich history. We climbed the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, visited the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, and learned about the area's maritime heritage at the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum.
Best Family Activities in the Outer Banks Beyond the Beach
The Outer Banks offers so many family-friendly activities beyond the beach. We enjoyed mini golf, go-kart racing, and exploring the charming towns of Duck and Nags Head. The kids loved the arcade at the Nags Head Pier, while the adults appreciated the local seafood restaurants.

Why Renting a Beach House in OBX Is Better Than a Hotel
Staying in a beach house rental is one of the best parts of our OBX trips. This year we had an amazing house with ocean views, a private pool, and direct beach access. Cooking family meals together and playing board games on rainy afternoons created some of our favorite memories.
